Totes Unique - Mini Wallets

Pattern - Lewis Wallet by Spencer-Ogg

  Mini Wallets

I spotted this pattern ages ago and "filed it under L for Later".

The other week my son came down stairs wearing a favourite T-shirt & pointing to two large tears in it said "I think I'm going to have to say goodbye to this" & took it off.   I decided I was going to put it to use and make him a face covering when I remembered the Lewis Wallet pattern and decided to make him one of those instead so teamed it up with some Cordura as an outer.  To be honest, it really wasn't one of my best efforts as the interfacing I used to stabilise the t-shirt fabric made for bulky seams and a wavy finish to the inside but he's happy with it & when I said I'd make another was told "Dinnae be daft".

I also realised I hadn't made any "gizzits" for the SAM Veterans group recently and had been pondering what to make for them so once I worked out what was causing the wobbly insides (bulky seams) it was time to have a go at a few different ones.

I've added a set of press stud dies to my "Green Machine" collection - I think the 15mm brass studs on the waxed cotton wallet look rather nice.

Totes Unique - Portable, Folding Water Bowl

Portable, Folding Water Bowl

I've taken a pattern for a fabric basket/podlet, which has no internal seams made it in waterproof Cordura lined with waterproof Ripstop nylon to turn it into a portable folding doggy water/food bowl. It folds down to fit in a pocket.

This particular one was made to take with us on days out & about with our wee JRT.

To check for leakage I left water in the bowl for over 3 hours and it was fine. That said, the bowl is only intended for occasional, not continual, use.

Totes Unique - Belt Bags

Pattern - "Bummity" by Spencer-Ogg

Belt Bags

Some may call them bum bags, others call them fanny packs but as these particular bags are designed to go on a belt, I'll call them Belt Bags.

These are simple, pouch-like, bags with a long belt holder at the back.  These are handy for going out & about on holiday as they can either be hand carried or placed on a belt to keep it close to the body.

These particular bags were made for Service Veterans.
I used a brown, distressed, soft faux leather for two of them, as I'd already made some "Bag Buddies" in a brown pebble effect faux leather I made a matching bag to go with them (all from patterns by Spencer-Ogg). Lastly, I also made one in some Camo cotton drill fabric.  Whilst they can fit any belt around 1"/25cm wide, I did make a webbing belt with side buckles just in case anyone needed it.

I bought myself a "Green Machine" rivet press a few weeks ago but hadn't really used it - I made up for that on this project.
